It's Inspection Day!

Go Go Gadget Renovation!
Today we learn just how crazy we are... it's inspection day!

Barring any major structural or mold issues, we are certain we will still want the home after the inspection. We have discussed the dozens of repairs and updates for hours (days!), and we're still head over heels for our Care-free Home. But with our purchase agreement specifically stating (in oh so many ways) that we are solely responsobile for any and all issues with the home if we want to purchase it, the inspection may seem unnecessary...

We feel the inspection will help us understand the many repairs that are ahead and develop a plan/timeline based on our budget and priorities. In addition, the City of St. Louis Park utilizes a number of different codes that we need to understand and adhere to. So the inspection is really the first step in what is sure to be a 10+ year renovation.

We downloaded an inspection checklist from TotalHomeInspection.com and are head to meet with our team of experts - our agent, inspector, builder and architect - at 2 p.m. today.

Wish us luck!
