Our 10-Year To Do List

There's only so much time and money to invest in the home. And, admittedly, our 1-year to do list is pretty agressive. So we've also developed a list of things we want to do in the first decade in Our Care-free Home.

GENERAL
 New screen doors for front and back entry
 Replace all windows and sliding doors
 Full house speaker system
 Update remaining electrical (outlets, switches)
 Install energy efficient light bulbs
 Refinish hardwood floors

MASTER BEDROOM
 Custom closets

GUEST BEDROOM
 Custom closets
 Replace pastic divider windows with glass

OFFICE
 Custom Closets
 Replace plastic divider window with glass

MASTER BATHROOM
 Complete remodel into pantry (walk in shower, dual vanity, radiant heat)

GUEST BATHROOM
 Complete remodel (new fixtures, tub, sink toilet)

LIVING ROOM (FIREPLACE)
 Install fireplace insert

KITCHEN
 Complete remodel (cabinets, appliances, open pass-through)
 Tile floor

ENTRY
 tile entry and hallway
 New custom front door
 Replace or restore mailbox
 Custom closet

REAR ENTRY
 Custom closet
 tile entry and hallway
 Custom back door

BASEMENT - MAIN AREA
 Finish room to create bonus room (carpet, sheetrock, etc)
 Wet bar with fridge
 recessed lighting

BASEMENT - OTHER
 Finish laundry room
 Complete 4th and 5th bedrooms
 Complete bathroom
 complete back rooms (craft/storage)
 Build out utility room

GARAGE / STORAGE
 Refinish front of garage
 Add new garage doors
 Remodel carport into garage with heat, etc.

BREEZEWAY
 Enclose as a greenhouse

YARD / LANDSCAPING
 Build patio off of living area
 Add hedge to back yard for privacy
 Landscape for privacy on patio
 Add original wing walls to breezeway

  1. Welcome to the neighborhood! So great to see that someone wants to put life back into such a cool house. Good luck with your To-Do List! Only suggestion? Consider making part of the breezeway a screened-in porch; being so close to the golf course and the nature center, there are a *lot* of mosquitoes (we used to live in St. Paul and were surprised by the noticeable difference in "bug life" here).
